A kidney-shaped fibreglass pool, 10.4 by 4.0 metres, with a Merbau timber deck all the way around and a smooth bullnose edge you can sit on.
It slopes gently from 1.2 metres at the shallow end to 1.9 metres at the deep end — comfortable to stand in at one end, proper swimming at the other. The shell arrives in one piece, so once the hole is dug it goes in fast and there is no rendering, tiling or curing to wait on.
A quiet variable-speed pump, cartridge filter and salt chlorinator, all plumbed and commissioned. The water looks after itself; you top up the salt a couple of times a year.
Frameless 12 mm glass, 1.2 metres high, with a self-closing gate. It keeps the view open where a fence would close it off.
Required by Australian law · AS 1926.157.3 square metres of Merbau, 1.5 metres wide the whole way round, screwed from below so there are no fixings underfoot. Oiled once before we hand it over.
